Responsibilities

Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements according to HGB and IFRS
Preparation of local tax returns
Responsible to cover inquiries for tax and statutory audits
Preparation of advance sales tax returns as well as annual sales tax returns and ZM returns and preparation of statistical returns (AWV, IDEV, etc.)
Handling of intercompany bookings and IFRS 16
Monitoring of current accounting (especially incoming/outgoing invoices, bank account statements, travel expenses, etc.)
Control of monthly payroll, calculation of quarterly bonuses, calculation of lump-sum payroll taxes
Competent contact person for the assessment of accounting and tax issues and procedures, cooperation with contact persons on site as well as internationally with the company headquarters
Responsibility for the dunning process
Master data maintenance and system checks
Cooperation and support in process optimization and system adjustments

Qualifications

Successfully completed commercial vocational training in the field of accounting or a similar qualification in the field of financial accounting or as with further training as a balance sheet accountant or tax clerk
Good knowledge of German tax law required and knowledge of payroll accounting desirable
Professional experience with comparable tasks in finance and accounting
Experience in using relevant accounting software, ideally MS Axapta, SAP Ariba and the relevant financial portals for submitting tax reporting
Experience in telephone/personal interaction with domestic and foreign counterparts
Confident command of MS Office
Service and customer orientation
Good written and spoken German
Good command of English
Independent, structured and careful way of working as well as a strong understanding of numbers
Confident and engaging appearance
