Commercial /Trade & Investment Assistant

Commercial Office – Philippine Trade & Investment Center (PTIC), Philippine Embassy Moscow

a. Assist in translation and drafting of commercial/trade & investment market intelligence reports that may include but not limited to priority sectors for promotion in the Russian Federation;

b. Generate and establish new commercial/trade and investment contacts in the Russian Federation from private sector and government, as well as maintain existing contacts for potential trade sourcing of Philippine products & services and to increase investment in the Philippines.

c. Assist in updating the Commercial Office, Philippine Embassy Moscow database of contacts that include but not limited to new and existing Russian Federationimporters/buyers/distributors of Philippine products and contractor of services, as well as potential investors in priority sectors for promotions;

d. Prepare and draft research on key Russian Federationinvestment sectors/industries and related products, that will serve as commercial opportunities for Philippine products and services;

e. Research and update inputs/economic statistics and investment data and related information from various sources on the Russian Federation;

f. Assist and provide support in planning, organizing, and execution of Commercial Office, Philippine Embassy Moscow trade & investment promotions and marketing events and activities;

g. Provide support to the Commercial Office, Philippine Embassy Moscow team as assigned by the Commercial Counsellor for meetings with contacts and official activities through preparation of contact reports;

h. Draft press releases for official events and major activities, meetings to be posted in Commercial Office, Philippine Embassy Moscow website and social media accounts;

i. Manage and regularly provide content and materials for use in website and social networking sites of Commercial Office, Philippine Embassy Moscow, as well as draft press releases for Commercial Office, Philippine Embassy Moscow organized/coordinated events for uploading in Commercial Office – PTIC, Philippine Embassy Moscow social networking sites and website that will promote and market Philippine trade and investment opportunities in Russian Federation, as well as highlight major activities and official events organized by Commercial Office, Philippine Embassy Moscow;

j. Disseminate to relevant Russian Federation companies and government agencies various informational materials on the Philippines as well as invitations to official Philippine commercial trade & investment related activities in the Philippines and in Russian Federation that promote trade & investment opportunities in the Philippines;

k. Attend investment/trade events that the Commercial Counsellor is unable to attend to establish as well as maintain contacts in the identified priority sectors for marketing and promotions and commercial intelligence purposes;

l. Assist in the drafting of accomplishment reports, inputs required and other reports of Commercial Office, Philippine Embassy Moscow;

m. Assist in drafting and sending out of communication in response to inquiries received, as well as marketing campaign letters to: Russian Federation buyers for Philippine Participation to include but not limited to Manila FAME, IFEX and other trade shows held in the Philippines or in Europe and the Middle East that the DTI is organizing; and Russian Federation potential investors for investment conferences/forums and roundtables that will be spearheaded by the DTI or the Commercial Office, Philippine Embassy Moscow;

n. Assist in the administrative requirements and day-to-day operations of the Commercial Office.

o. Perform other tasks and duties as may be assigned by the Commercial Counsellor that is consistent with the mandate of DTI.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Education:

Advanced university degree level in business, economics, management, mass communication, public relations, journalism or another relevant field, or a university degree with proven professional expertise equivalent to an advanced university degree.

Knowledge and skills:

The applicant must have
Technical Knowledge and Skills:

- possess good knowledge of Philippine economy, trade and macroeconomic issues;

- ability to apply economic theories and concepts in trade facilitation and sustainable development;

- be well versed in the use of relevant communications tools, including social media, websites and audio/visual;

- knowledgeable in developing campaign ideas around new media and public-facing advocacy opportunities including social networking, video sharing and broadcast TV;

- capacity to develop and facilitate relationships with the creative community (film, advertising, music industry, etc.)

- ability to conduct independent research on economic topics, determine suitability, validity and accuracy of data provided by different sources;

- be a strong communicator with excellent writing and reading skills;

- have the capacity to speak with clarity and authority.

Behavioral Skills:

- to communicate information in a clear way and to understand information;

- to persuade others to a point of view using facts;

- to make presentations on a variety of subjects to a wide variety of audiences; and

Work Experience:

Minimum two years' experience in a trade, investment or business support organization, government, or international organization.

Experience in marketing, research, consulting, business and/or project management in economic development is desirable.

Languages:
Excellent speaking and writing skills in English, and excellent translation skills from Russian to English and English to Russia is essential. A good working level of Filipino is an advantage.

Additional Information: Only applications from Russians or Filipinos and foreign nationals who have met the qualifications with proper documentation and residence permit/work visa in the Russian Federation will be accepted.
