Joom currently includes the following businesses: Joom Marketplace, a platform for shopping from all over the world; Onfy, a pharmaceutical marketplace in Germany; Joompay, a fintech service for daily financial transactions in Europe; Joom Logistics, a business that provides logistics, technology and infrastructure services for cross-border eCommerce; JoomPro, a platform for cross-border wholesale trade. Joom offices are located in Latvia, China, Hong-Kong, the USA, Germany, Luxembourg, and Russia.

We are now looking for a native English proofreader who will be in charge of our localised product and marketing copy ensuring our English-speaking users have the best possible Joom experience. You will be working within a team of translators, localisation and country managers and will contribute to exciting projects such as new product features and marketing initiatives.

After a few months, you’ll have an opportunity to start creating clear and concise product copy from scratch working closely with our designers and product managers.

Responsibilities
  • Proofreading our translated texts ranging from in-app and web micro copy to a variety of marketing materials
  • Conducting regular copy quality and product checks
  • Updating and maintaining language-specific tools such as style guide and glossary
  • Writing UX copy to help users navigate our product, including working on onboarding, feature naming, promotions, error messages, etc; ensuring a consistent and highly optimised user experience at all times
  • Collaborating with product managers, designers, UX researchers and localisation team
  • Consulting teams in creating user manuals, documentations, glossaries
Requirements
  • Native speaker of English
  • Broad experience editing and proofreading product UI and marketing copy in a tech company
  • Excellent writing skills, minimum 1 year of experience in UX writing in a tech company
  • Passionate about language and enjoys driving products with intuitive experiences forward
  • Experience in translating complex concepts and processes into relatable, human terms
  • Training or education in a relevant field (marketing, copywriting, communication, translation or similar)
  • Experience with CAT tools, TMS, Figma or ability to learn new tools and technical procedures quickly and effectively
We are offering
  • The expected weekly workload is of 20 hours, potentially more depending on upcoming projects and availability within the team
