WebGL Engineer

Occipital, Inc. (USA) is a leader in computer vision and spatial computing. Our most notable products include our Structure Sensor line of 3D scanners, our Structure SDK 3D scanning software platform, and our mobile app for 3D scanning homes, Canvas, which was featured in Apple’s own keynote about the iPhone 12 Pro as a significant example of what you can do with its new LiDAR sensor. We are a global company with offices in the United States, Russia, and Ukraine.

We are looking for a WebGL Engineer to join our team and take an active part in building the next generation of interactive web tools for converting 3D scans into CAD models. That will involve the development of advanced measurement and modeling tools based on our latest computer vision and AI algorithms. In this role, you will have an opportunity to work on the team that crafts 3D web experiences for thousands of customers who scan millions of square feet per month.

• Deep experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, Three.js, GLSL (or any other shader language)

• Proficiency with 3D math - you should be able to create complex geometries / meshes automatically as well as from the user’s actions

• Experience building with WebGL, specifically going under the hood of the framework (i.e., you should know how things work on a deep level, and be capable of making custom modifications, not just copying scripts)

• Graphics pipeline understanding

• Comfortable with reading and writing in English. Comfort with written English is a major benefit

• Comfortable working across multiple time zones and cultures

• Front-end (React/Vue/AngularJS)

• Experience with 3d software (Blender, 3ds max, SketchUp, Revit)

• BIM specifications and experience converting CAD geometry to different formats (IFC, SKP, and others)

• Participation in the development of OpenSource projects or having open projects on GitHub, GitLab, and so on

• Experience with Django

• Python, general Backend web development, and architecture

• Great teamwork and interpersonal skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, proactive attitude, and a drive for results

• Demonstrated creative problem-solving approach and strong analytical, debugging, and troubleshooting skills

• Proven ability to work well with others in a fast paced, iterative development environment
