RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead and manage the team of Visual Merchandising/Activity Co-workers and Graphic communication co-workers, inspire and challenge them to strengthen the uniqueness of the IKEA identity in range presentation solutions and communication in the store.
  • Lead the process of planning and implementing store communication to ensure that it conveys the benefits of the IKEA Concept, completes and enhances range presentation by using proven solutions, best practices, guidelines and national directions.
  • Develop, implement and evaluate layout as a commercial tool and store communication strategies that support a convenient shopping experience by using the knowledge about life at home and shopping behaviour in the local market.
  • Actively support in developing the department action plan using layout as a commercial tool as well as range presentation, vitality initiatives and store communication initiatives that are focused on growing the business and support long-term profitability and execute agreed plans in close co-operation with other functions.
  • Secure high standards for good visual balance and consistency, quality and simplicity, cost-efficiency and sustainability in producing and implementing all store communication and range presentation solutions and efficiency by applying national directions and using global tools and best practices.
  • Responsible for the recruitment and competence development of Visual Merchandising/Activity co-workers and Graphic communication co-workers and securing personal succession planning by constantly searching for potential candidates and developing them well in advance.
  • Lead a team of Visual Merchandising/Activity Co-workers and Graphic communication co-workers in creating relevant, inspiring, affordable and commercial range presentation and store communication solutions that reflect a wide variety of styles, price levels, meet many individual tastes and exceed visitor's expectations.
  • Keep up to date and knowledgeable about retailing, graphic design, home furnishing and trends in order to support the Com&In manager to facilitate workshops that generate creative directions that inspire and surprise visitors with a strong visual impression.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Experience of working as a visual merchandiser or graphic communication design, media and typography
  • Design-based education.
  • Proven success in managing and leading creative processes and coaching people.
  • Visual competence with a keen eye for aesthetics.
  • Passionate about home furnishing, design and how people live at home.
  • Ability of working in a fast retail environment.
  • Proven customer-focused mindset.
  • Demonstrate clear communication skills, i.e. the ability to verbally explain concepts and visual interpretation.
  • Ability to prioritise and organise work and the work of others in order to make the most efficient use of time available and meet agreed goals and deadlines.
  • Good communication skills in English.
  • Computer proficient with knowledge and experience of using relevant software (e.g. AutoCad, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite).
