We invite Account Technology Manager (Team leader) to our Russian site

Detailed role description
  1. Customer / market contact
    1. Supports customers on all aspects of FP technology in line with Differentiation Strategy concept (e.g., ink performance, guidance & support, product safety) as part of one-face-to-customer (OFC) or international account management (IAM) team
    2. Asks the right questions to understand technology issues at customer and transfers them in suitable lab experiments/ customer projects
    3. Answers technical questions in a structured and comprehensive way (written and verbal) according to defined standards
    4. Prepares and conducts technical/ customer meetings
    5. Resolution of technology related customer claims according to his OFC role and the claim procedure
    6. Identify new business opportunities for Siegwerk at local customer
    7. Deal with external technical / market partners and service providers within the area of responsibility and cooperate with technology counterparts within the SW group
    8. Observation of market and competitors from technology point of view
  2. Lab technology work
    1. Structures work packages for own lab technicians, checks progress and end products
    2. Analyzes and interprets results and draws conclusion to solve customer issue
    3. Optimizes/develops inks matching customers or market needs (e.g., adding func-tionalities, reducing number of series used, exchanging raw materials to reduce cost, PSR requirements (e.g., formulation guideline) etc.)
    4. Accurate and comprehensive documentation and reporting on technology portfolio developments and progress in line with defined standards
  3. Team, lab & people management
    1. Explains team members expected tasks and business context, gives direction for daily lab work (e.g., work pipeline, task prioritization)
    2. Motivates lab staff, gives insightful feedback and coaches/ trains team members
    3. Ensures SW working policies (e.g., breaks, overtime) are followed and gives input for performance management process & feedback to supervisors
    4. Checks results from agreed lab work and end product quality
  4. Projects, admin, & ad-hoc requests
    1. Supports SW internal projects on demand
    2. Supports other colleagues with own experience and expertise whenever required
Qualifications & skills
  • Educational background: Technical academic degree (e.g., MSc, PhD, Diploma (Uni/FH)) in print, process or chemical engineering or natural sciences (e.g., chemistry, physics), also lab technician education with appropriate experience on the job or parallel-to-the-job training to ‘Techniker/Meister’ level possible.
  • Experience: Proven ability to solve technical issues in ink, packaging, chemicals, coatings, additives, packaging, etc.
  • Expertise in at least some technical aspects of flexible packaging: ink, formulation, packaging structures, print technology, converting, food packaging safety, applications, simulation, testing, analytics, etc.
  • Project management: basic education or experience in project management helpful
  • Language skills: fluent in English in oral & written form, further languages advantageous
  • Mobility: willingness to travel within EMEA
  • Communication skills: ability to communicate technical topics efficiently to staff, supervisor, customers & sales function
  • Other skills: team player attitude and interest in customer & people relations
